ShelleyTheRepublican.com: Linux: A European threat to our computers (by Tristan)
Them good ole' conservative-republican-Bush-lovers.
Now don't get me wrong here. I'm not against Bush... I think he may have been the lesser of the two evils during the last election. My views overlap with certain Republican ideals and I am somewhat conservative in certain social areas of my own life.
Now that I have that defense out of the way, I'd like to bash a weblogger. I wouldn't normally do this because there is usually something about any given argument that I agree with. However, the argument of "ShellyTheRepublican" against Linux is the worst argument I have ever heard against Linux. Either her whole weblog is a joke or she is a complete moron.
Is this seriously an argument? If so, guess what Europeans drink for breakfast? You guessed it: coffee and tea! Two products which should be banned because those crazy pinkos drink them!
Open-source means that any old programmer can know if their computer is open to Chinese hackers. Close-source means that you can't know if someone has the potential to hack you. Good job with that argument.

I'm sorry but does this statement even make SENSE? I just read this a few times and I can't even figure out how to dispute that. Well... here goes my argument. I know Borland, Cisco, and Dell support Linux openly; all 3 are companies in the BSA. I'm not sure how Linux qualifies as an "illegal program" anymore than using a manual shift car qualifies as illegal.
Whenever I look for a reason to embrace organized religion, someone like this comes along and kills any hope I have left for it.

Finally someone has a good point...
Words of a true idiot.
I'm starting to believe it is all a joke.
Based on her profile I think this might be a non-native English speaker poking fun because her grammar is horrific... worse than mine!

Osama uses Linux because he knows designed to counterfit DVDs, curcumventing the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and defraud companies like Disney.

If one of your friends is using Linux or may be tempted to try it show them this article. Explain that Linux is a genuine threat and that by using it they may be opening their computer to Chinese hackers.

If you see a company using Linux, it may be that they have not paid for this software. Report them to the Business Software Alliance who have the legal authority to inspect any company's computers for illegal programs like Linux.

Finally, remember to include Linux users in your prayers tonight. As individuals we may not be able to change people's minds, but the Bible teaches that God can make any sinner repent.

Linux is just a anarchist invention aiming at bringing chaos and death everywhere in the world. I am still amazed to see that no one is able to see the truth in their games.

Funny I though Babbage invented the computer, dont think he even went to America, let alone was American. I read that far then realised that it must all be a joke :)

Follow-up: Jonathan found out that it is in fact a hoax. That's certainly reassuring.
